“God, how wonderful is the expectation of the New Year, when you see the joy in the eyes of your children, when new hopes wake up in you. I thank my Georgia, my kind people for this support. I want to hug you all, wish you a year of love and kindness. May the joy that you brought us come back to you a hundredfold!" - says Ilina. She is happy today!  Your kindness has made them happy, friends!  We bought the Chkhetia family joy for the New Year. Our Fund gave them many gifts: food, a washing machine, a stove, a refrigerator, sweets, and toys for little angels.  They will never forget this wonderful day.

“Hurray! A real New Year has come to us!”

When we visited the Chkhetia family, little Anastasia had a sore throat and she cried bitterly. Mom couldn't buy her medicine. Five-year-old Andria howled from hunger.

Ilina (23-year-old): My children never laughed, they even forgot how to rejoice. I could not fulfill any of their wishes, even when they asked for a bigger piece of bread. 

Year after year, nothing has changed for us - the same poverty, the same hunger, the same diseases, everything was old and broken, like my dreams... I didn't have any hope and... Suddenly you appeared. You appeared like the heroes from a Christmas fairy tale and gave us new hopes... You brought the pieces of my heart together.

    A young mother said these words to us with such love that our hearts began to beat faster. This is the result of great work that we do together. It is true happiness indeed when you help to get up those who have fallen, when you feed the hungry, when you warm the frozen ones! 

"Look, my kind Santa is drawn here, when I eat all the sweets, I will save the box so that I can hug him tightly..."

"This is Barney Bear, I cried every time when I saw it in the store, because my mother could not buy it for me... I have a lot of them now. Do you want me to treat you?”

Anastasia (6-year-old): It turned out that Santa remembered our address. Mommy told me he lost it. But he remembered it by heart, can you imagine that? By heart... Just like I remember poems about him. He sent us so many sweets by a big car that we could even set the table with them.

“I, aka Anastasia, aka Tasuna, wish you a Happy New Year and a lot of sweetness!”

 Andria (5-year-old): He sent me a car with a remote control and delicious snacks - cookies and chocolates. Will the New Year come again I wonder? I will always behave well, if only it always comes.

“I want every New Year to be like that!”

Andria: It didn't come before. It used to come to someone else, it hasn't come to us yet. Let me beg him:  we are not bad children, please come to us always, I beg you! 

Anastasia: It did not come to us indeed! We had neither delicious food nor toys. We had not a gas stove to cook food, we had not fridge to store it. Now we have everything new. And beautiful...  You should have seen my doll - she looks like me, she has the same pigtails Like me. Santa even saw me. I’m just wondering where? He probably remembered me from the matinee in kindergarten ...

“Mom, will we have delicious food every day?”

  Ilina: It's an amazing feeling of gratitude, joy... I can't single out anything specific. I love every single thing. Good people gave me all this with all their hearts. Who knows, maybe they didn’t have enough for themselves, but they did their best anyway. Maybe they really needed every lari they transferred to us themselves? But they did their best, helped us, were next to us, like the closest people.  Why am I saying "like"? They are really close to us! We've never had a proper stove... Our refrigerator was just a dummy... It did not work! And look what a beautiful fridge we have now! 

“I like our new fridge so much, that I want to look at it all the time!”

The washing machine also made us very happy. Washing with hands in a fierce and cold winter period for a person like me is tantamount to death. Splashing in icy water can cause problems even to those with good health, but what will happen to a sick person?!  You have no idea how happy we were with food, New Year's sweets... I will repeat the words of my baby and say that the New Year is coming to our home for the first time! 

“I can’t believe it’s mine! I want to jump for joy! Is it really the end of washing with hands?”

Ilina: They would settle pleasantly in their warm homes and celebrate the New Year with comfort sitting at tables full of food. And without you, we wouldn't have even a single chocolate bar... Who cares about the poor? They remember about people like us only when elections are coming up and they need votes. Look at our home - it is about to collapse! If it collapses on us, we will not survive, and you will not have votes, you will not have voters in our person, dear deputies! I wish that some kind person will appear and provide us with normal living conditions, where nothing will threaten us - I do not ask for any special comfort. I dream about sleeping calmly.

     Friends, the young mother still needs our support. The family does not have normal living conditions, they do not have normal furniture - beds.   600 GEL of social allowance is not enough even to buy medications, how can they buy groceries? We must help them on an ongoing basis so that the children do not starve. It is so terrible when children starve! God save everyone from such a life!

          Our problems are noting if compared... Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need!
