I'll have to give up on my dream until I have the operation

Lazare: Most of all, I dream of having a bicycle, but I have a crooked spine, and I won't be able to ride it.  My mom said that kind people will help us raise money for my surgery, and then, when the doctors "fix my spine" and give permission, I'll be able to run, jump, and even ride a bicycle. And here I am, afraid of the operation, but when I imagine myself leaving the hospital and being able to "bike" immediately, all the fears disappear.
