Can you really die from hunger?
Mari: Someone said that you can die from hunger. When I go many days without eating, I feel really bad. My school friends share their lunch with me; I think they're also afraid I might die during lessons. We have nothing, so I don't even know what to dream about. I would really like a phone and a school backpack, but who will buy them for me? My mom has no money at all, and my dad left us. They often call me a "ragamuffin" because of my shoes.
